Thankful

Tap! Tap! Tap! Tap! Little fingers are quickly filling blogs with words that share thoughts, emotions and feelings.  I love our Fridays.  It delights my soul to see these writers emerge as bloggers.  They are challenged to make each post unique and a reflection of their personality.  At the beginning of the year, they have few words.  By now, each is beginning to get the hang of this challenge, and their words are flowing a little easier.

This process is beautiful!  This day is such a blessing.

I am so thankful for the amazing kiddos who are in my classroom right this minute.  They are writers,
and readers,
and scientists,
and historians,
and athletes,
and artists,
and anything thing they want to be.

They are truly the reason for what I do!

I love being their teacher!

Ladies and gentlemen, I am THANKFUL for you!

Assignment November 20, 2015

Good Morning!

Today, you have at least 5 blogs to write!

1.) Share you poem about November that we wrote on Monday's journal.

2.)  Blog your poem about rain or weather that you wrote on Tuesday in your morning journal.

3.)  Write your poem about something that is important to you.  This is the poem that you created on Wednesday in your writing journal.

4.) Post the journal entry that you wrote on Thursday about a person, place or thing that you are thankful for and why you are thankful for them.

5.) Slice your life.  This week pick one small moment out and share it with us!  Be sure and make it come alive like a movie.  Share every detail so we can create a picture in our head!

After you have finished those five, you may write a blog about anything you would like to share.  It could be about your reading, your dog, a thought, a wondering, or even another poem that dances in your heart!  You pick!

Writers,
I love reading your words!  Thank you for sharing them with me!  I am thankful for each one of you!

Slice of Life October 23rd

"I have been waiting for this day all year," I exclaimed.  They sat in their seat with their focused eyes following me around the room.  I couldn't wait to unveil this amazing journey we were about to embark on as a class.  I have seen how life changing this process can be.  I could feel their nervous excitement as I shared my experience with SOL.
The light soared and brought the projected image to life!  The large orange slice of life logo became part of my our environment.  "Today, you will write your first Slice of Life Blog,"I shared with my class.  "You have learned how to write a personal narrative, and now, you will get a chance to share your amazing life with our readers."  The students' mouths fell open and their eyes bulged.  So, I continued,  "I have created posters, and I am sending them to our parents so they can share your words with others." "WHAT!?!?" they exclaimed.  "Yes, the world will know what amazing authors you are!!" I joyously sang out!  "I am so excited!"  They stared at me like I had a bug crawling out of my nose.   I could tell each of them had a million questions in their mind, but all that arose was a sigh that could be heard all the way to the moon.

This is going to be fantastic!

Imagination Reflection

I use my imagination to help me look at the world in a different way.  I hope to find ways to capture people, places, and ideas from new and unique perspectives.  I strive to use my imagination every day in our classroom.  Students deserve role models and new ideas to push them to be successful.

Using my imagination makes me feel special and unique.  I love thinking and dreaming.  Like most little girls, I dreamed of the fairy tales for my life.  Those dreams haven't ended.  I feel strong and creative when I use my imagination.  I absolutely LOVE
