I am so sad to say that this is our LAST blog to complete together in B-1.  I absolutely LOVE being your teacher!  I am proud of you , and I want to challenge you to make these two your best ones!!

Blog #1 - Write about your favorite 4th grade memory.  Was it mastering multiplication?  Was it finishing a great book?  What was the most memorable thing about our year?

Blog #2 - Summer Reading plans!!  One of the things I LOVE about summer is the freedom to read many different books at a variety of wonderful locations...like the public library...snuggled up on my couch....at the pool....and at the beach!!!  I can not wait!  What books do you plan to read this summer? Where are you going to read them?

Top Ten Assignment Friday, May 22nd

Good Morning,

This is our next to last day to spend blogging in our classroom.  I have loved watching you become better bloggers!!

This morning, we are writing a top ten list about what you have loved or enjoyed about 4th grade.  Top ten lists are a great way to organize your thinking.  They help us communicate why things are important, and they are fun to create.  Lists grab people's attention.  Our readers love to read lists.  They are flexible and  are a wonderful way to share your opinions.

1.) Decide on your top 10 things you have loved or enjoyed about 4th grade.  (on a piece of notebook paper)

2.) Put them in order of 1 being your most favorite thing and ten being the end of your list.

3.) Blog your list and describe why you added each thing to your list.

4.) Comment on at least 10 other blogs!

Happy Blogging!

Howdy!

It's my turn to tell you about the great university where I went to school. Texas A&M University located in College Station, Texas is an awesome place!  I began my college career the fall of 1991.  I was admitted into the College of Architecture.

I spent three years competing in the field of Architecture.  I then decided I wasn't competitive enough or precise enough to make it in architecture.  The models nearly killed me.  :)  The one below is one I found online created by some students.  I can't begin to tell you how bad I was at building these models!
A model made by Texas A&M architecture and landscape architecture students Michael Hernandez, Jose Perez, Xi Zhao, Maggie Webber and Jimmy Solis for a potential Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children facility in Frisco.

So, I changed my major to my other love....teaching and moved to the College of Education!  I am thrilled to be an Aggie educator!

Besides classes, I was extremely involved at Texas A&M University.  I was a Fish Camp Counselor, a member and officer of MSC Hospitality, Aggie Sisters for Christ, and a hostess for Aggie Muster.  This is what A&M calls the "Other" education.  I fully believe that my time in these organizations helped shape me into the person and teacher that I am today.

I loved everything about being an Aggie!  It was the ONLY university I applied to for my undergraduate degree.  It was the perfect fit for me!

I love it so much, that I have recently been accepted into their Masters of Education program!  I am honored to begin my second round of classes and learning in August.

Assignment, Friday, May 15th

Good Morning,
Today you are going to share the two journals that you wrote during the last two days of writing rotation.

1.  You will make two blog posts.  One will be titled "My Future College" and the other will be titled "My Future Career".

2.  Type the words that you wrote in your journal on those two prompts.  Images may only be added AFTER you have finished all of the typing on the two blogs.

3.  After you have finished the two blogs, you may take some time to research your college or career choice.  Your third blog will be about the specific facts you find.  How much does it cost?  Where is it located?  Do you have to have a degree for that career?  How can you advance into higher levels in that career?

I can not wait to read your blogs!  You know I love my Aggies, but I adore all of you.  I want to see your dreams come true!  So, whether you will be dressed in maroon, orange, or green, I will always be one of your biggest fans!!!

5.)  After you have written the review, you can find pictures of the covers of the books and add them to your blog.  AFTER!!!!!

Dearest Readers

                                           Friday, May 1st, 2015

Dearest Readers,
Today, I am so very thankful that you have stopped by to visit my blog.  I absolutely love sharing this method of writing with my students.  Each week, we sit down as bloggers to write about what is going on in our life and our classroom. They have produced some amazing blogs!  Be sure to check their blogs out!

We have been working on letter writing in our classroom this week.  Therefore, I decided writing a letter to our readers seemed like a perfect thing to blog today.  Letter writing is a great skill to have as an author.  I love looking back at letters that were written a long time ago.  They give me a glimpse into what was happening during that period of time.

We appreciate that you would take time to come visit our blogs.  Our blogs have a lot more meaning when we have visitors who comment on our posts.

Have a great day, and please keep checking back on our progress!
                                                      Sincerely,
                                                      Mrs. Nabors

Good Morning!!

Be sure to read the entire assignment before you begin writing your blog.

Today, you are going to blog a friendly letter to the readers of your blog.  Make sure you have your heading (date only) in the middle of the blog post and your greeting (Dear Reader) is at the left margin.

The body of your letter should tell your reader all that you hope they learn about you after reading your blog.  It could also thank them for reading your blog.

Don't forget your closing and signature (first name only).

I have invited other teachers to come read your blog today!  So, be sure you are doing your very best!

After you have finished your friendly letter, go visit other classmates and comment on their letters.
I will have a prize for anyone who can comment on every blog that was written today.  That means you have to comment on every classmate's letter and mine!!

Then, you may do some free blogging.
Ideas:
